Research Methods in Sport Management
Graduate course
Purpose
The goal of this course is to introduce students to research methods for sport management. It exposes students to the key concepts of theory, theory development, and application of theories in research. Students will learn to critically evaluate urgent research topics in sport management and in general, and develop the ability to recognize the gap of knowledge in the literature. This graduate course provides students with the necessary skills to choose the most appropriate methodological approach in order to collect valid and reliable data and the ability to present a research report.

Objectives
Upon completion of this course, students are expected to demonstrate an understanding of:
1. The importance of research in developing knowledge.
2. The different types of research.
3. The research processes.
4. How to develop a research problem
5. How to design a research proposal
6. The purpose of a literature review
7. How to access literature necessary for a research proposal
8. The concepts and conceptual frameworks necessary to conduct research
9. The essential role of using a theory to support a research proposal
10. Be able to identify and discuss relevant lines of inquiry and theories in sport
management.
11. The importance of choosing the appropriate methodological approach
12. Qualitative versus quantitative research approaches
13. The processes for collecting data
14. The various types of analyses used to interpret data.
15. How to write the research report and present the results
16. Develop and present a research report of interest by applying/expanding relevant
theories
17. More advanced skills necessary to engage in research activities.

Sport and Sustainable Development
Undergraduate & graduate course
Purpose
This course examines the quality and status of contemporary sustainable development in sport research, knowledge, and practice. Master's degree candidates will investigate a variety of issues that exist in the modern world society, and they will be introduced with a sustainable development framework. Participants of the course will complete projects that explore aspects of sustainable development in the sport.
Goals

Sport Advertising
Graduate course
Purpose
This course examines the quality and status of contemporary advertising in sport, the knowledge, skills, concepts, and practical implications required for successful advertising in the sport industry. Strategies and techniques for successful advertising will be studied. Also, this course introduces students to research in sport marketing communications and advertising, in academic writing and the publication process.
